11 Purvis Street, #02-02, Singapore 188590
BeanSpark is a bright specialty coffeehouse on the Purvis Street / Beach Road café row — one floor above street level in a heritage shophouse suite. Walk-ins are welcome every day; we do not operate as a private members club or reservation-only dining room. Espresso, filter coffee, spark-of-the-day pours, tea, pastry and takeaway service run from 07:30 to 19:00 Singapore time.

Opening hours (SGT)
Monday through Sunday: 07:30 – 19:00. We open early for office guests and stay through afternoon filter service. Last espresso orders typically 18:45; pastry may sell out earlier on busy Saturdays.
Peak times — honest note
Weekday 08:00–10:00 is our morning rush when the espresso line is longest. Saturday 09:00–12:00 fills the shared bench quickly. We do not advertise "never busy" — arrive before 08:15 or after 14:00 for the calmest court. Filter recommendations shine when the bar has breathing room.
Directions and MRT
Nearest MRT: Bugis (DT14/EW12) or City Hall (NS25/EW13) — six to ten minutes on foot. Purvis Street runs between North Bridge Road and Beach Road. Look for the shophouse entrance and climb to #02-02. Buses along Beach Road and North Bridge stop nearby.
Seating and laptop etiquette
The café court mixes a shared bench, two-top tables and window ledge seats — about 38 covers total. Some tables feel outdoor-adjacent thanks to street-facing windows; we do not operate a rooftop patio. Laptops allowed with headphones; please take phone calls outside the court. Power outlets exist along the east wall — not every seat.
Groups and accessibility
Groups of six or more should email [email protected] ahead of weekend visits. The building lift serves level two; the café court is wheelchair accessible via the shared corridor. Accessible toilet facilities are on the same floor outside our unit. Well-behaved dogs on leads welcome before 11:00. Private cuppings for up to twelve guests can be booked through our contact form.
What to expect inside
BeanSpark is entirely indoors — no rooftop terrace, no hidden garden, just a bright café court with tall windows facing Purvis Street. You will see the espresso bar from the entrance, read the handwritten spark board before you order, and hear dial-in if you arrive at open. Music stays low enough for conversation; the shared bench is the social centre of the room by design.
Takeaway is always available in compostable cups. Dine-in ceramic is our default when seats allow. Pastry sits under cloches away from steam wands. Retail bags are shelved near the door for walk-out purchases. Caffeine is a stimulant — we describe taste and process, not medical outcomes. Ask about allergens before ordering; nuts, gluten, dairy and soy appear in our kitchen.
Getting here in detail
From Bugis MRT (EW12/DT14): Exit via Bugis Junction, walk east on Victoria Street, turn left onto Purvis Street — approximately five minutes. The shophouse entrance sits mid-block; take the lift or stairs to level two and look for the copper door frame.
From Bras Basah (CC2): Exit toward Waterloo Street, continue south to Purvis Street — approximately seven minutes on foot through the civic district.
From City Hall (NS25/EW13): Walk via North Bridge Road toward Beach Road, then turn onto Purvis Street — six to ten minutes depending on your exit.
Buses along North Bridge Road and Victoria Street stop within a short walk. The nearest HDB car park is on Queen Street. Street parking on Purvis is limited and metered — we recommend MRT where possible, especially during weekday peak hours.
Neighbourhood and nearby stops
Purvis Street sits between Bugis Junction and the National Library corridor — a short stroll from Bras Basah, City Hall, and the Esplanade side of the civic district. Albert Centre market on Queen Street is a common hawker breakfast stop before guests climb to our court for a second cup. The shophouse rows along Beach Road suit an afternoon walk after filter service.
We open daily at 07:30 including most public holidays unless noted on our channels. If you are unsure whether we are open on a specific holiday, telephone +65 6953 4172 before you travel. Same-day table holds are not guaranteed during peak hours — walk-ins remain welcome when seats allow.
