Cookie Policy
Last updated: 21 July 2026
This cookie policy explains how BeanSpark Pte. Ltd. ("BeanSpark", "we") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit beanspark.life. It should be read together with our privacy policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember preferences, maintain security, and understand how pages are used. Similar technologies include localStorage, which stores data in your browser without sending it on every request.
2. How we use cookies
BeanSpark takes a minimal approach. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or social media tracking pixels on this website. The cookies and storage we use fall into these categories:
3. Strictly necessary
These are required for basic site operation. Without them, certain features may not work. They include server session identifiers that help deliver pages securely and protect forms from abuse. We do not need consent for strictly necessary cookies under common interpretations of privacy law, but we disclose them here for transparency.
4. Preference / functional
When you click "Accept all", "Reject all", or "Customise" on our cookie banner, we store a localStorage entry (beanspark_consent) recording your choice for six months. This prevents the banner from reappearing on every visit. The value stored is a simple text flag with no personal identifiers.
5. Analytics (optional)
With consent via "Accept all", we may enable privacy-oriented analytics that count visits and referrers in aggregated form — no ad tracking, no remarketing pixels. If analytics are disabled, no analytics cookies are set. We do not currently deploy Google Analytics; if this changes, we will update this policy and the banner before activation.
6. Cookies we set
PHPSESSID (if applicable) — HTTP cookie, server session for form security, duration: session.
beanspark_consent — localStorage, records banner choice (all / none / custom), duration: six months.
Hosting session cookies — may be set by our Singapore hosting provider for load balancing and security.
7. Third-party cookies
Google Fonts may be loaded to display typography. Google may process technical data when fonts are requested from their servers. If you prefer to block these requests, use a browser extension or disable remote fonts — the site will fall back to system typefaces defined in our CSS. External links (email clients, telephone diallers) are not cookies and are not covered by this policy.
8. Managing cookies
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to refuse, delete, or alert you when cookies are set. Clearing cookies may reset your cookie banner preference and require you to choose again. Instructions vary by browser: Chrome (Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies), Firefox (Settings → Privacy & Security), Safari (Preferences → Privacy), Edge (Settings → Cookies and site permissions). Blocking all cookies may affect form submission or site navigation on some configurations. Email [email protected] if you need help resetting consent.
9. Do Not Track
Our site does not respond to Do Not Track signals because we do not engage in cross-site behavioural advertising. Essential and preference storage will still operate to deliver core functionality.
10. Relationship to the PDPA
Cookie and localStorage data that identifies or can be linked to an individual may constitute personal data under the PDPA. Our essential cookies are limited in scope. Preference storage contains no name, email, or account identifier. For broader data handling, see our privacy policy.
11. Future changes
If we introduce analytics, embedded media, or booking widgets that set additional cookies, we will update this page and the banner text before those features go live, describing each new cookie by name, provider, purpose, and retention period.

13. Duration and expiry
Session cookies expire when you close your browser. The beanspark_consent localStorage entry persists for six months from the date you save a choice, after which the cookie banner reappears so you can review preferences. Hosting provider session cookies typically expire within twenty-four hours unless otherwise noted in provider documentation.
14. First-party versus third-party
First-party cookies are set by beanspark.life or our hosting infrastructure. Third-party cookies may be set when your browser requests resources from external domains — for example, Google Fonts. We minimise third-party dependencies and do not embed social media widgets that track browsing across sites.
15. Mobile browsers
Mobile Safari, Chrome for Android, and other mobile browsers offer cookie controls under privacy or site settings. Blocking cookies on mobile may affect form submission and banner memory similarly to desktop browsers. In-app browsers (for example, opening links from messaging apps) may use separate storage — you may need to set preferences again in each in-app browser session.
16. Impact of rejecting analytics
If you reject analytics cookies, the site functions normally for browsing, menu reading, and contact form submission. We lose aggregated insight into which pages guests find useful, which may slow our ability to improve content. No individual advertising profile is created in either case because we do not run remarketing campaigns.
17. Cookie audit
We review cookies set by beanspark.life periodically — at least once per year and whenever we change hosting, analytics, or form providers. This policy is updated when new cookies are introduced. If you report an unexpected cookie, email [email protected] with the cookie name and your browser so we can investigate.
18. Relationship to consent banner
The cookie banner on beanspark.life offers Accept all, Reject all, and Customise options. Your selection is written to localStorage as beanspark_consent. Reject all loads essential cookies only. Accept all may enable analytics as described in section 5. Customise lets you toggle optional categories independently before saving.
19. Logging and server data
Even when cookies are blocked, our web server may log IP address, user agent, requested URL, and timestamp for security and troubleshooting. Server logs are covered in our privacy policy rather than this cookie policy, but we mention them here because guests sometimes ask whether "reject all" stops all technical data collection — it does not stop essential server logging required to deliver pages.
20. No sale of cookie data
BeanSpark does not sell cookie-derived data to data brokers or advertising networks. Analytics, if enabled, is used solely to understand aggregate site usage for improving our café website.
